This website is being created to honour the life and legacy of Gareth Howls — a much-loved family member and a true icon of Welsh rugby.
Gareth made a record 608 appearances for Ebbw Vale RFC between 1965 and 1981. He captained the club in the 1970s, was named Player of the Year, and represented the Barbarians, Gwent, British Police, and Wales A, earning recognition as a player worthy of full national honours.
Off the field, Gareth served with distinction as a police officer. On it, he was known as a powerful, committed forward and a figure held in the highest regard by teammates, supporters and the wider community.
